Dome Coral Study
An exciting collaboration between Ceramicist Helen McCormick and Willow artist Vik Westaway. This wall sculpture was inspired by ancient dome coral fossils found in the rocks and seabeds of the south west. Helen’s beautiful blue toned and textured ceramic elements are embedded with a tiny amount of sand from the devon coast. These elements are then woven with willow to form loops, spherical structures and knots, leaving the very delicate tips of the willow exposed. An original marriage of materials which celebrates our connection to the sea.
