An exciting organic collaboration between Ceramicist Charline Marzin and Willow Artist Vik Westaway. Charline began this piece with a hand thrown ring which was wood fired for a number of days, then with a handmade glaze she devised using willow ash from Vik’s willow offcuts; she used the glaze to echo the torus form. After final firing Vik threaded and looped sustainable Somerset willow onto the ring, creating intricate lines, delicate weaves, knots and bindings. This unique work is a celebration of willow and its elemental healing properties.
